Chico Calif.—Chico’s newly improved skate park will soon be enjoyed by boarders from all over the north state.

Five thousand square feet have been added to the Humboldt Skate Park operated by Chico Area Recreation and Park District (CARD).

CARD and the Community Group Chico Skate Park Solutions raised $450,000 to pay for a new bowl and street features.

The bowl, and street features were designed and constructed by Grind-Line Skateparks of Seattle.

A few weeks ago Tony Hawk visited the skate park and shared his sneak peek on his Instagram helping spread the word about the state of the art facility.

It will be open Monday morning at 10:30 a.m. at 370 Humboldt Avenue in Chico.

We began the first full week of August on a slightly cooler note with a lot of high clouds, haze and smoke for most parts of northern California. The high clouds will remain through much of Tuesday, with other changes coming soon.
