CHICO, Calif. - The McGowan family and friends waved and cheered outside of Faye's balcony, practicing social distancing and not letting the coronavirus crisis rain of the parade.
"It's been a great turn out and a wonderful day and I appreciate everyone that took the time to come out and celebrate mom's 100th birthday," Mark McGowan, son of Faye, said.
"It's very heartwarming and we are all very grateful for everyone coming," Mindy McGowan, daughter to Faye said.
"I feel so blessed because I have had a charmed life," Faye said.
A life that she lives to the fullest. Faye McGowan has spent the last 60 years here in Chico creating memories, raising a family and building friendships.
"She has had an incredible life, done all kinds of things traveled all around the world, hosted incredible parties," Mindy said.
"Everybody I spoke to on the phone says sure we'll come, everyone, I know has cabin fever - they said heck yeah we'll come to say hi to Faye," Mark said.
"I feel wonderful to see my nieces and friends and kids friends and mine I couldn’t have had a better day if I tried," Faye said.
