Chico woman catches suspected burglars napping in neighbor's home

A Chico woman caught two suspected burglars napping in her neighbor's home on Wednesday.

CHICO, Calif. - A Chico woman caught two suspected burglars napping in her neighbor's home on Wednesday.

Police received a call from the woman around 11 a.m. who was watching a neighbor's home on Mill Street while he was in the hospital.

When she opened the front door, she found the suspects had broken into the residence and were sleeping inside. 

Chico police officers arrived on scene and arrested Brandon Heaton, 27, and Leslie Montgomery, 36. 

Montgomery was also found to be in possession of some of the resident well as methamphetamine. 

Heaton was also in possession of a wallet and credit cards that did not belong to him.

Both were placed under arrest for burglary and transported to Butte County Jail.
