DURHAM, Calif. – Butte County Deputies arrested a woman they say pried open around 100 post office boxes and stole large amounts of mail.
During the investigation, deputies located a victim who believed their business bank account information had been stolen during the burglary.
Investigators said that 44-year-old Carolyn Hill, of Chico, broke into the Durham Post Office on Aug. 12. She then stole bank account information from a business, which she used to forge checks and steal money from the business, according to BCSO.
On Jan. 4, Hill was booked into the Butte County Jail for felony counts of burglary, forgery, identity theft, grand theft, and passing fraudulent checks, according to BCSO.
