CHICO, Calif. - The Chico Unified School District will stick with the current am/pm model for in-person learning for the remainder of the school year.

In a special meeting Wednesday night, the school board chose not to reconsider its Feb. 3 decision which locked in the am/pm model until the fall semester.

Changing that decision would have required a majority vote approval to simply even consider it.

Despite two hours of discussion of orange tier status, relaxed CDC guidelines and impassioned pleas from parents and students attending Wednesday night's meeting, no board member was willing to put forth a motion to reconsider and the issue died.

We have beautiful weather around northern California right now, but it will get a lot more unsettled this weekend as a storm moves overhead. We can expect gusty wind, a big cooldown, and areas of light to moderate rain.
