CHICO, Calif. - With temperatures reaching double-digits on Wednesday, people around Chico found ways to cool off.
"It's cool, it's from our local creek and it feels really good," said Teresa Mangino, who cooled off in the Sycamore Pool.
Lifeguards were on duty at the pool and the cooling center at the Jesus Center was open for even the pets.
Some people faced the heat for a quick trip to get ice cream.
"I'm here because it's 205 degrees outside and it's a whole lot nicer here," said Lonny Peterson, who enjoyed some Shuberts ice cream.
The cooling center in Chico is open through at least August 16 and opens at 10 a.m.
