CHICO, Calif. - Butte County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Chico man for armed robbery during the week of Oct. 7.

The Butte County Sheriff’s Office arrested 39-year-old Aaron Carter, of Chico. The arrest was apart of an investigation that began in September, according to police.

During the investigation, a victim reported Carter threatened the victim with a handgun and robbed him on September 29, 2019.

The robbery occurred on the 1000 block of Lori Drive in Chico.

In October, Detectives served a search warrant at a residence in Chico where Carter had been living. Detectives located evidence that Carter had shot a handgun in the backyard of the house.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Carter for a felony count of robbery, and for a felony count of grand theft.

Authorities also learned Carter was arrested in Sacramento after he showed up at a Sacramento hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg. Carter was transported to the Butte County Jail.

Detectives also booked Carter for being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Light scattered showers are on tap for the start of your Thursday, and I'm tracking heavier rain ahead from Thursday afternoon through mid day Friday. We'll have a lull in our wet pattern late Friday through early Saturday, but even heavier rain and snow will return this weekend and persist into next week. Major travel impacts will be possible across northern California from this wet weather.
