CHICO, Calif. - A double hit-and-run left two people injured in separate locations. Police have seized the car, but the suspect remains at large.
The first hit-and-run took place at the Boucher Street Market on the morning of Friday, Oct. 16.
The victim was a woman riding a bike, says a witness that saw it all unfold.
"She just floored it and went straight at her," said Ron Smith, who witnessed the incident. "So when she hit the lady with the bike, she literally flew like 10 feet in the air at least."
The second hit-and-run took place at the Beacon gas station on Fair St. in Chico, where an employee was the one who was run over.
"So literally 5 minutes after the first incident, she made it to the Beacon and ran over the second person," said Smith.
"I have a wife and kids and my son asked earlier 'hey, can I walk down to the store?'" said Smith, recollecting how the incident affected his family.
"My wife's like, no, this is the reality, this could happen to you, you never know, so no you can't. You can't go for a simple walk three blocks to get a treat."
No word on the condition of the woman on the bicycle that was hit.
An employee at the Beacon gas station told Action News Now it was his cousin who was hit, and he said he's still in the hospital but will survive the accident.
If you have any information on the woman who was driving the black Acura you are urged to call the Chico Police Dispatch Center.
