Chico police are cracking down on store clerks who sell tobacco products to minors.

CHICO, Calif. - Chico police are cracking down on store clerks who sell tobacco products to minors.

One clerk was cited during a youth decoy program in which minors under the direct supervision of school resource officers, attempted to purchase tobacco products from 12 businesses.

A clerk at the mobile gas station on 1350 Longfellow Drive was cited for selling chewing tobacco to the minor.

The goal of the operation was to limit youth access to tobacco and vape products and to confirm that local businesses are operating within compliance of the law.
