Chico police arrest fleeing felon with help from citizens

Chico police arrested a man with an outstanding felony and several fresh charges.

CHICO, Calif. – Chico police arrested a man with an outstanding felony and several fresh charges.

Police said an officer was patrolling the area of East Avenue and North Avenue when he observed a red Honda sedan acting suspiciously.

When the officer turned around to investigate, the driver sped away, driving recklessly.

After striking a tree, the driver fled on foot toward a movie theatre.

After searching the area and receiving information from several citizens, the officer arrested James Thao.
