CHICO, Calif. - Free meter parking in Chico parking lots in downtown Chico will be extended to Aug. 22, according to the City of Chico.
The free parking is targeted to help boost business downtown as they recover from the impacts of the pandemic.
The city has permitted free parking for over a year and will now continue it through late Aug.
The City said people must follow the time limits as it will remain in effect and will be enforced.
"These efforts, in conjunction with parking fee relief, are ways the City could help spur Chico’s local economy and encourage
everyone to shop local,” City Manager Mark Orme said in a news release.
