Chico fire rescues teenager at Upper Bidwell Park

Chico fire responded to reports of a teenager partially trapped under multiple rocks in the Bear Hole area of Upper Bidwell Park Thursday.

CHICO, Calif. - Chico fire responded to reports of a teenager partially trapped under multiple rocks in the Bear Hole area of Upper Bidwell Park Thursday.

Authorities first received reports of the incident around 2 p.m. Bystanders witnessed the teen get partially stuck under the rocks and attempted to free her before calling authorities. 

Chico fire said the teenage girl was floating the river with her friends when she got partially stuck under the rocks for about 15 minutes. 

Crews arrived on the scene and spent 10 minutes helping her out from under the rock. 

The girl was treated at the scene and is expected to be OK.
