CHICO, Calif. - A local family is getting into the holiday spirit while helping out a good cause.
The coronavirus pandemic did not stop the Tiffany family from continuing an annual Christmas tradition, while following all of the safety precautions.
Keri Tiffany says her family has been decking out their house for years and it all turned into a community event to help raise money for The Make-a-Wish Foundation.
Tiffany says this year with the pandemic donations for the program are lower than usual and many local kids are having to wait to get their wishes granted.
In our area there are currently about 20 kids on the waitlist for wishes.
Wednesday and Thursday dozens of community members stopped by to check out the light display at The Tiffany House while wearing masks and following social distancing.
Over the years the family has raised over $10,000 dollars for the organization.
This year they reached almost $1,000.
Santa Claus was also there taking photos with kids and families.
There was free hot cocoa and cookies available for guests and donations were not required.
