CHICO, Calif. - A man was convicted of forcible molest against a girl who was between the ages of 12 and 17 and faces life in prison, according to Butte County District Attorney.

45-year-old William Lawson, Jr. of Chico was found guilty on 15 counts and seven special allegations.

One of the allegations the judge found was Lawson had a strike for a residential burglary he committed in 2000, potentially doubling his sentencing.

Cell phone data from Lawson’s phone supported the woman’s testimony of where she was molested in Chico.

Lawson is in custody without bail and will appear in court on June 16 for his sentencing.

He faces a maximum of 150 years to life in prison, plus 214 more years.
