CHICO, Calif. - The City of Chico celebrated Pride month at its very own Pride Pop-Up Fair and Festival.

Hosted by the Stonewall Alliance Center, people gathered in downtown Chico Saturday to listen to live music, watch drag performances, grab a bite to eat and shop at local vendors’ booths.

Those who attended said although it was hot, the music and atmosphere were uplifting.

“I have been here since 9 this morning so I am slowly melting but well worth it. It’s just been a really great day," said Samantha Shaner, the owner of Trax. "The energy is great, the music is great and there are so many creative vendors out here today. It’s just a lot of fun.”

But the celebrations were not over.

Saturday night, stonewall is hosting a Silent Disco Teen Pride Dance with carnival games and free food for teens ages 13 to 18.

The disco was from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Chico Women’s Club on 3rd St.
