CHICO, Calif. - If you know anyone who is a whiskey connoisseur, this may be the perfect Valentine's Day gift.
Golden Beaver Distillery in Chico is selling bottles of its Honey Run Honey Whiskey Saturday, February 13, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the distillery out by the Chico Airport.
The bottles will sell for $50. Profits will go to help rebuild the Honey Run Covered Bridge in Butte Creek Canyon.
A similar fundraiser was held in December. At that time, they ran out of whiskey, selling 250 bottles and raising close to $15,000 for the cause. Organizer Walt Schafer says it's first come first serve and there is no limit on the number of bottles you can purchase.
The Pre-Valentine's day fundraiser is a curbside event because of the coronavirus.
The Honey Run Covered Bridge was destroyed in the 2018 Camp Fire and is already in the process of being rebuilt. The cost of rebuilding the bridge is $2.9 million. The Honey Run Covered Bridge Association has already raised $1.1 million.
The Golden Beaver Distillery is located at 13464 Browns Valley Drive, off Twin Oaks Drive.
