Chico State police looking for battery, possession of firearm suspects

During a physical altercation, one of the three suspects pulled a gun out of his pocket.

CHICO, Calif. - Chico State Campus Police say they are looking for three men who confronted a group of students and then pulled a handgun out of his pocket.

It happened around 1 a.m. on Sunday morning, Jan. 26. Officials say three men in their twenties walked up to the group on the sidewalk at the southeast corner of the Shurmer Gym on Warner Street.

During a physical altercation, one of the three suspects pulled a gun out of his pocket. According to officials, the gun was knocked out of the suspect's hand before it could be used.

The loaded gun was found at the scene by police but the suspects had fled prior to university police's arrival.
