CHICO, Calif. - The Chico State class of 2020 is celebrating all of their accomplishments virtually but for three students it's a bittersweet celebration. Action News Now reporter Kristian Lopez reported live from Chico State.

Bryanna Melendez, Eddie Aldrete and William French are all first in their families to graduate from college, but even though they can't walk in front of their loved ones they're still proud of what they've accomplished.

All three went through the Oroville Spillway Crisis, Camp Fire and now the Coronavirus during their college careers.

All three are from southern California but say this community will always be special for them. They say they will be back to celebrate their in-person graduation ceremony next year.
