CHICO, Calif. – Chico Sports Club has temporarily closed its operations starting at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

This comes after Governor Gavin Newsom Monday called for gyms and health clubs to align their efforts of the local and state officials to combat the spread of the coronavirus.

“We feel strongly that Chico Sports Club needs to be a part of the solution to this health concern and especially considering the average demographics of our members it is prudent that we take action now rather than later,” Chico Sports Club owners, Jeff Stover and Scott Hillard said Tuesday.

CONTINUING CORONAVIRUS COVERAGE

The owners added that they are not sure how long Chico Sports Club will stay closed when they feel it’s safe to open they will notify the public on their website and social media platforms.
