Chico Pride kicks off Friday with a reception party

Chico Pride will be hosting a variety of free events throughout the month as everyone is welcome to join the events.

CHICO, Calif. - Chico Pride kicks off Friday with an art show and reception at the Museum of Northern California Art.

The event will be in-person as masks will be required but will also have virtual events.

Chico Pride planned events are a Community Art Show and Sale, Drive-in Movie with preshow Drag Bingo, a Pride Popup Fair and Festival and more events that can be found here.

Friday night is one of the biggest nights when they will have an art show reception, which will be open through Sunday.

There is a reception party Friday night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with live performances and more activities.

“Everyone of any identity is welcome, allies included," said Alyssa Larson, Events and Volunteers Coordinator for the Stonewall Alliance Center. “We are trying to make sure that we focus on our whole community also and realize that a lot of people come from different backgrounds and have different situations happening in their lives.”

All of the events are free except for the drive-in movie.
