Chico Police seeking suspects in school custodian's attack, robbery

Chico Police are searching for two men after a school custodian was attacked and robbed while at work.

Chico Police are searching for two men they say attacked and robbed a school custodian.

Chico Police say it happened at 9:55 p.m. Thursday night at Rosedale Elementary School on Oak Street. They say they arrived to find the victim suffering from a number of injuries to the face after being attacked and robbed.

Police say the victim, who works as a custodian for the Chico Unified School District, said he was taking a work break from cleaning classrooms when he was approached by two unknown suspects. The suspects attacked him and began assaulting him. The suspects took the victims cellphone and fled the area in a dark colored SUV.

The suspects are described as one white male adult in his late teens to early twenties, and an African American male adult in his late teens to early twenties with dreadlock style hair. The victim was not seriously injured during the robbery.

The Chico Police Department is asking witnesses to come forward and contact the department at 530-897-4911 if they have information regarding the robbery.
