Chico Police search for suspect in stabbing on bike path

On November 5, 2017 at approximately 2 p.m. the Chico Police Department received a report that a female had been assaulted while walking in Lindo Channel, under S.R.99. Officers arrived and spoke with a female who stated she had been cut by an unknown female suspect while walking on the bicycle path. The victim indicated the female suspect approached her and asked for money. The victim declined. The female suspect then used a sharp object to cut her. The victim received a laceration to her arm and sought medical attention at a local hospital. The female suspect was last seen running from the area, eastbound in Lindo Channel. The female suspect was described as a white female adult approximately 40 to 50 years old, with curly blond hair. The female suspect was wearing a gray jacket and dark pants. Officers searched the area for the female suspect but were unable to locate her.
