Chico Police: Driver hits car, then 2 dump trucks

Police said a hit and run driver damaged two dump trucks while trying to escape another crash.

CHICO, Calif.- Police said a hit and run driver damaged two dump trucks while trying to escape another crash. 

They say a man driving a white van hit a car on W. Sacramento Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night. 

Then, police said he tried to take off onto Nord Avenue, where he crashed into two dump trucks at the 76 gas station. 

No one was injured in the crash, but according to officers, the driver had to be taken out of the van. 

Police said they are working to learn if the driver was under the influence.
