A man was stabbed several times in North Chico Monday night.

Chico Police responded to reports that a man had been assaulted and was bleeding on the 600 block of Manzanita Avenue around 10:30 p.m. The victim, identified as a 62 year old man, had difficulty communicating and was taken to Enloe Medical Center to be treated.

At the hospital, authorities determined the man had been stabbed several times, suffering serious injuries.

Witnesses told police they saw two white, adult men attack the victim before running off to the south in the direction of the Lindo Channel. The suspects are described as white men, in their 20s, wearing white T-shirts.

A motive is unclear at this time. Anyone who witnessed the crime is asked to call Chico Police.
