CHICO, Calif. - Four suspects are on the loose after an attempted armed robbery in west Chico on Thursday, Oct. 29.

Action News Now has learned no one was hurt in the shooting that was first called in as a drive-by shooting around 8:50 p.m.

Chico Police say several shots were fired into homes and at vehicles. Two homes on Columbus Avenue were ultimately struck by the bullets.

"We're asking the public if they happen to see four males with masks running towards the Nord area at around 8:50 to please give us a call," said Sergeant Justin Adrian.

"Out of nowhere, we hear like seven shots pop off. Go out there I hear a lot of commotion, there's obviously a ruckus going on. Plat plat plat, eight times." said one witness.

Police determined the suspects were on foot and say there may be more than one gun involved in this robbery. Officials say it appears this was a random act and the victims and suspects did not know one another.

Again, Chico Police is looking for four white and Hispanic men wearing face coverings, who were described to be in their late teens or early 20's. Police said they were last seen running toward The Post on Nord Apartments, 1200 Nord Avenue, around 9 p.m.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Chico Police Department at 530-897-4911.
