Chico Police Investigating after Pedestrian Hit by Car

The Chico Police department has shut down traffic as they investigate a crash in the intersection of E. 5th Avenue and Sherman Ave.

CHICO, Calif.-- The Chico Police department has shut down traffic as they investigate a crash in the intersection of E. 5th Avenue and Sherman Ave. 

Police say a pedestrian has been taken to Enloe Medical Center with serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle.

The crash happened at around 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

The Chico Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is currently on scene and has taken over the investigation.

The roadway is expected to remain closed.

Drivers in the area are asked to exercise caution while the investigation continues.
