CHICO, Calif. - One man was arrested on Saturday after Chico Police say he was driving under the influence and kicked an officer.
It happened around 8:30 p.m. on May 16 when officials say an officer was on patrol and saw a vehicle driving erratically in the area of Humboldt Avenue and Poplar Street.
As the officer attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver swerved onto the wrong side of the roadway multiple times before finally pulling over.
Officials say the driver, 31-year-old Trevin Poscich, was showing objective symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol.
Poscich refused to perform field sobriety tests and began to resist the officer's attempts to detain him. This is when officials say the Chico man kicked one of the officers on scene, resulting in minor injuries.
Chico Police said Poscich was on probation for a prior DUI. During this arrest, he was charged with DUI, driving with a suspended license, violation of probation and resisting arrest with violence.
