CHICO, Calif. – A well-known publication for the city of Chico is preparing to make a return to print for the first time since March.

Chico News & Review will return to print with a special edition, staff announced Monday. Staff members said its been nearly three-and-a-half months since Butte County’s independent weekly has been in physical circulation.

The loss of advertisers in the wake of the coronavirus shut-downs forced all three News & Review offices in Chico, Sacramento, and Reno, to temporarily cut print publication as of March 19.

The Chico News & Review pushed to continue reporting on the community with minimal staff and resources on its website during the coronavirus pandemic.

The July 1 issue will offer an opportunity to reconnect with the community and readers who might not realize that the CN&R remained active online, staff members announced.

The CN&R has covered the news and arts of Butte County since its inception in 1977.

Sunny skies and warmer temperatures are on the way for your Sunday. We'll be mostly sunny and just about as warm on Monday. A modest cooling trend and the chance for Sierra showers is ahead for Tuesday.
