CHICO, CALIF. - A Chico High School student tested positive for Coronavirus.
It's the first case of COVID 19 in a Chico Unified student, since a return to in-person classes on October 19th.
CUSD Assistant Superintendent Jim Hanlon said Chico High's Principal and School Nurse are working with the Butte County Health Department to notify all impacted staff and families. Some will be placed on a precautionary two-week quarantine.
Hanlon said parents can check the Aeries Communication System to see if their child was in the student's classes.
He issued a news release Thursday that said the infected student did not attend school this week. And while parents may have many questions about the student, the District is prohibited by law from sharing that information.
The District says 17-hundred-81 students are enrolled at Chico Senior High.
