CHICO, Calif. - A house fire ignited two houses and a boat on Sunday evening, after it jumped between two homes in a Chico neighborhood.

Chico Fire Department said that they were able to quickly put out the blaze, which broke out on Savannah Lane in Chico, but not before it damaged two houses and a boat.

"Fire in itself is challenging," said Jesse Alexander, division chief for the Chico Fire Department. "But to have two going simultaneous is a unique situation. So, as many personnel as we can get out to split the crews and work the fires simultaneously is a very big benefit."

No one was home at the time of the fire and the cause is still under investigation.
