SISKIYOU COUNTY, Calif. - Ellie and Taylor Denney have been planning their wedding for a year. Ellie is a wedding planner, and as an expert on nuptials, she had some unique ideas to make her own wedding stand out.
They planned to get married outdoors in Siskiyou County. Thursday, when the Klamathon Fire broke out, it was small, and a distance from their venue in Hornbrook.

Early Saturday, the winds kicked-up and shifted, moving the flames closer to Hornbrook. Firefighters checked in with their wedding party of 100 guests. And though the mandatory evacuation order had not yet been issued, Ellie and Taylor decided to move the ceremony up an hour. Their 30 minute planned ceremony turned into 5 minutes of an exchanging of vows, and then everyone evacuated.
The Denneys say they are grateful and impressed at how a strike team moved in quickly to save nearby homes, and they even saved the venue set-up.
It wasn't the wedding they had planned, but they have quite a wedding tale to tell.
