CHICO, Calif. – Now that Butte County is in the red tier, the Chico Cinemark is making its move to reopen its doors. The Cinemark will reopen on Friday, March 12.

Moviegoers can purchase tickets for standard showtimes, and those looking to stay within their trusted group can book a Private Watch Party to watch the film of their choice with the group of their choice.

The theatre said it will reopen with greatly enhanced cleanliness, sanitizing and safety measures.

Each theatre will also have a designated Chief Clean and Safety Monitor on duty to ensure safety, physical distancing, cleanliness and sanitization.

The Cinemark said each of its auditoriums will be disinfected between showtimes. Theaters will have staggered showing and limited seating. New seat-buffering technology will block seats adjacent to a party upon ticket purchase, and face masks will be mandatory for all guests and employees.

Get out and enjoy this beautiful weather tonight! If you do head out and plan to stay out late, probably bring an extra later to throw on for when the sun sets as temperatures will be cooling off into the low to mid 60s for the valley by midnight and low to mid 40s by tomorrow morning.
