CHICO, Calif. – The Chico Chamber of Commerce will distribute 5,000 free masks to any Butte County business on Friday, May 15, the chamber announced Wednesday.
With Butte County entering stage 2 of reopening, businesses are working to be prepared and safe. The Chico Chamber of Commerce is lending a helping hand by partnering with chamber members Slater & Son, Fifth Sun, and the Downtown Business Association to distribute the masks to local businesses.

Slater & Son has created a COVID-19 support fund through the North Valley Community Foundation. Utilizing this fund, they purchased masks at a discount from Fifth Sun.
A portion of the masks is a tie-dyed variety that are sewn and tie-dyed in Chico.
The chamber said the distribution is first come, first serve. It’ll run as a curbside pickup Friday, May 15, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Chico Chamber of Commerce, 180 E. 4th Street, Suite 120.
