CHICO, Calif. - Happening on Thursday, the Chico Chamber of Commerce is set to host its 82nd annual dinner and business awards event.

This year's theme is moving Chico forward. The event is a chance for the Chamber to recognize members for their economic contributions to the community.

The chamber is also setting sights on the future. Action News Now asked the chamber President and CEO what key items are on tap for the coming year.

They said the goals are workforce housing, labor retention and recruitment, and tackling the conditions of city roads.

Chamber members will delve deeper into goals, at the business summit and state of the city event, on Friday, January 24, at the Chico CARD Center.

A trough of low pressure is moving over northern California this afternoon and tonight, and that will increase our wind speed and raise our area's fire danger even further. The wind will be weaker Thursday, but the smoke will get worse.
