CHICO, Calif. - The Chico Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 2018 Candidate Forum for Chico City Council on Wednesday, Sept. 5, from 8:30 - 10 a.m. at the CARD Community Center located at 545 Vallombrosa Avenue, Chico.

All but one of the candidates for office have committed to taking part in the forum.

Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Katie Simmons says the Chamber does not endorse candidates, but likes to inform them of issues important to the business community and give them a chance to address those issues in public. Issues like crime, economic development, infrastructure and homelessness are topics of interest.

Seating at the CARD Center is limited to 225 people. As of Thursday, more than 180 had RSVP'd. The event is free and open to the public, but if you want to ensure a seat you need to email chicochamber.com or call (530) 891-5556.

We'll be staying hot and dry today with big impacts to your air quality. Smoke from active wildfires will result in unhealthy to very unhealthy air quality in our region, and will also keep our high temperatures somewhat in check. Cooler temperatures will finally return for your weekend.
