WEST BENGAL, India - A Forest Ranger tried to pose for a selfie with a python and was nearly strangled.
The ranger captured two Indian rock pythons that were terrorizing a village in eastern India.
He put one of them around his neck and posed for a selfie with the villagers and that’s when things went wrong.
The 66-pound python wrapped around his neck and started choking him.
It took several people to get the snake to let go.
The ranger played down the incident, saying it was blown out of proportion and that he knew what he was doing.
Both pythons were later released into the suspect.
