CHICO, Calif. -- Chico Police said a car crashed into an ambulance heading to a call in Chico Tuesday evening.

Chico Police said the accident happened on East 8th Street and Pine Street just before 8 p.m.

Action News Now spoke with Chico Police about where the ambulance was heading.

"Yes, there was a female that had been arrested by Chico Police that needed medical attention, and that female was the reason that the medics had been summoned to respond to the Chico Municipal Center," said Sergeant Curtis Prosise.

Chico Police said no one was injured in this accident. Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor, according to police.

Sergeant Prosise said police are investigating the cause and whether the car yielded to the emergency vehicle.
