Car crashes into Chico home Tuesday morning

A car crashed into a Chico home Tuesday morning.

CHICO, Calif. – One driver is walking away with minor injuries after crashing into a Chico home Tuesday morning.

The Chico Fire Department responded to the crash along W East Ave.

Authorities said the single vehicle was headed westbound when it veered off the road, hitting a rock, and was then launched into a tree and nearby homes.

Firefighters arrived on the scene and extricated the driver – who escaped with only minor injuries. One home was occupied during the time of the crash. However, all residents of the home were able to safely exit and did not suffer any injuries.

The first of two storms moved over northern California late last night and this morning, but our weather has quieted for now. More rain showers will fall Saturday, but heavier rain and snow with stronger wind arrives Sunday.
