PALO CEDRO, Calif. - A car crashed into a column in front of a Rite Aid on Deschutes Road around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The driver hit the front support column of the Rite Aid in Palo Cedro.
A tow truck removed the car, the front support column and front of the drivers' car was damaged. The car was in a handicapped parking spot, the crash pulled the handicapped sign out of the ground and cement was pulled out of the parking curb.
The driver was a 78-year-old woman of Shingletown. She was transported to Mercy Medical Center after the crash.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
