CHICO, Calif. - A car wash held Sunday in south Chico raised more than $3,000 all going towards the family of fallen firefighter Andrew Brake, who are going through a difficult time since a fatal crash claimed his life last week.
The owners of "Installer's Garage" said that Brake was a former employee of theirs and setting up the wash was an easy decision to make.
At least 88 cars drove to 11025 Midway, to get their car washed and possibly eat some deserts, baked by the Chico community.
Dianne Stallar says Brake was a close friend of theirs and they are deeply saddened by the loss.
But the car wash made about $3,432, including the baked goods.
If you did not have a chance to make it to the car wash which was from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. Sunday, the shop is always looking for donations at 11025 Midway, Chico.
