Cal Fire to do a prescribed burn Wednesday near Platina

A planned prescribed burn by Cal Fire will occur Wednesday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. northeast of Platina.

PLATINA, Calif. - Cal Fire will do a prescribed burn operation five miles northeast of Platina on Wednesday, according to Cal Fire Shasta County.

The burn will be up to 100 acres on the north side of Platina road.

Residents should expect to see smoke during the burn and the days following. The burn will start at 10 a.m. and should be completed by 5 p.m.

Crews will be on scene for the next few days until interior fuel consumption and mop up are completed.
