Chico, Calif. -- A vegetation fire broke out Thursday evening in Chico.

CAL FIRE and Chico Fire responded to reports of a fire at Richardson Springs Road around 5:20 p.m.

The fire burned about 2 acres. There were no reports of injuries.

CAL FIRE Division Chief, David Hawks, shared some important fire safety tips.

"People that are conducting burning should be in attendance, make sure they have a water supply and that their burning is done safely. As we can see at any time of the year, especially at this time of the year, fires can you know, burn," said David Hawks, CAL FIRE Division Chief.

The Richardson Fire has been fully contained. The cause is still under investigation.
