Highway Fire 100% contained near Hwy 99 & 149 in Butte County

The "Highway Fire" that burned near Highway 99 and 149 has been fully contained, CAL FIRE said.

UPDATE - Cal Fire says the "Highway Fire" that burned near Highway 99 and 149 is 100% contained.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated, high winds and dry fuels quickly spread it earlier on Saturday, CAL FIRE said.

BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - Cal Fire is on the scene of a vegetation fire where forward progress has been stopped, in the area of Highway 99 and Highway 149.

Cal Fire said the fire is at an estimated 300 acres with no planted crops being damaged.

The fire is south of Brook Family Farm on the west side of Highway 99 and is 75% contained as of 5 p.m.
