OROVILLE, Calif. - Cal Fire is on scene responding to a vegetation fire in the area of Mission Olive Ranch and Misty View Way in Oroville.

The fire, being called the Misty Fire, is at 9.5 acres and 85% containment as of 11:45 a.m., Oct. 30 according to Cal Fire.

Cal Fire says crews arrived at the fire burning in an area of oak trees and tall grass and with the hilly terrain and winds, there was the potential for the fire to be dangerous.

No evacuations were made with the progress made by crews keeping the fire away from the rural neighborhood.

Cal Fire told Action News Now the red flag warning is still in place and though it is not as windy as it was over the weekend, the winds are still an issue in the area.

With mop-up continuing through the night, the cause is still under investigation.

Get out and enjoy this beautiful weather tonight! If you do head out and plan to stay out late, probably bring an extra later to throw on for when the sun sets as temperatures will be cooling off into the low to mid 60s for the valley by midnight and low to mid 40s by tomorrow morning.
