BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - Cal Fire has confirmed the Bear Fire destroyed one school.
Cal Fire Public Information Officer, Rick Carhart, told Action News Now the Feather Falls School at 2651 Lumpkin Road in Oroville has burned down.
The school has not been open for a couple of years, but it was a long-time fixture in the community. In a video provided by an eyewitness, it is described that Berry Creek Elementary School also burned down.
Carhart also confirmed there have been burn injuries in the Bear Fire, but they don't know how many injuries. Action News Now is working to get that information.
There will be a press conference Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Harvest Hall at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds, according to Cal Fire.
