Cal Fire conducts training burn in Gridley

Cal Fire Butte County crews conducted a training burn in Gridley Monday.

GRIDLEY, Calif. - Cal Fire Butte County crews conducted a training burn in Gridley Monday.

Firefighters started the burn around 1 p.m. Currently, they plan to monitor the burn for the next few hours.

Smoke will be visible from Highway 99. Cal Fire says residents can expect to see smoke and embers in the debris for the next 12 to 24 hours. Motorists are asked to drive safely when traveling in that area Monday.
