Cal Fire Butte Unit on scene of vegetation fire

UPDATE: 9:43 a.m. Tuesday, March 3 - Cal Fire crews said the Loafer Fire held at two acres, crews stayed on scene to clean up.

BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. – Cal Fire crews announced they are on the scene of a vegetation fire in Feather Falls, they are calling it the Loafer Fire.

As of 8 p.m., the fire is holding at two acres. Firefighters will be on scene for the next few hours to control, according to Cal Fire.

There are no threatened structures at this time and the cause is under investigation, according to Cal Fire.

Thankfully, the wind is cooperating much better today in northern California. Our weather is still quite hot for this time of year and very dry. There is plenty of haze and smoke from the Fawn Fire overhead, and it isn't leaving yet.
