Cal Fire Contains Pilot Fire in Humboldt County

Cal Fire has fully contained a wildfire that broke out in Humboldt County just after 9 p.m. on Tuesday.

UPDATE 4:17 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019 - Cal Fire announced that the Pilot Fire is 100 percent contained. It burned a total of 30 acres in Humboldt County off of Pilot Ridge Rd. and USFS Route 1, southwest of Willow Creek.

UPDATE: 7:50 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019 - Cal Fire says the Pilot Fire is now 30 acres and 60 percent contained.

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. - Cal Fire is battling a new wildfire in Humboldt County.

Cal Fire says the "Pilot Fire" fire sparked just after 9 p.m. on Tuesday in the area of Pilot Ridge Rd. and USFS Route 1 just southwest of Willow Creek. Cal Fire says the fire is now at 30 acres with no containment. No evacuation orders have been issued at this time.
