CHICO, Calif. – CVS Health announced Thursday it will offer COVID-19 vaccinations at 119 more CVS Pharmacy locations for eligible Californians, starting on Sunday, March 14.
CVS said the vaccines will be available at locations in these counties: click here. In the North State, cities such as Chico, Red Bluff, Redding, Gridley, and Mount Shasta are included.
Appointments must be made online at CVS.com, or through the CVS Pharmacy app, and will be available for booking starting Saturday. People can also call CVS Customer Service at 800-746-7287 to register if they do not have online access.
In California, those eligible for vaccinations now include people 65 and older and those working in agriculture, food, education, childcare and emergency services.
The new stores are in addition to the 167 CVS locations already giving out the vaccine in the state.
CVS is administering vaccines to eligible groups through a partnership with the federal government. Eligibility varies by state. CVS said that more than 30% of vaccine appointments from March 3 to March 10 were pre-K through 12 educators and staff and child care workers.
More than 95 million vaccine doses have been administered in the United States, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Roughly 10% of the US population is fully vaccinated.
