CHICO, Calif. – A new ranking by "LendEDU" shows Chico State graduates take on some of the lowest debt of any school.
LendEDU, a website that helps consumers learn about and compare financial products, like student loans, released its “Student Loan Debt by School by State 2020” report.
In this report, Chico State ranked number five nationally and number one in the state of California for the lowest student debt figures among the nation’s Class of 2019.
Additionally, because Chico has one of the lowest costs of living in the state and 85 to 90 percent of Chico State students live within a mile of campus, commuting costs are reduced or eliminated altogether, compared to other commuter campuses around the country.
Chico State also consistently ranks among the best in the west and across the nation for educational quality and has an enrollment of 17,000.
Also in LendEDU’s rankings, five CSU campuses appeared among schools with the seven lowest student debt figures, both in the state and nationwide. This includes Cal State Fullerton and Cal State Dominguez Hills.
